QTIndexSwapper is a lightweight software application designed specifically for helping you move the video index from the end of the file to the beginning.Its video processing capabilities can be particularly applied to H.264 files that have the index at the end of the clip. The main problem is that during a progressive download task you need to download the whole file before actually being able to watch any parts of the video with ease.Since this is an Air-based tool, you need to previously install the working environment on your computer otherwise you cannot deploy the program.

User interface

The tool doesn’t impress much in the visual department as it adopts clean and plain looks. Files can be added in the working environment using the built-in browse button (you cannot rely on the drag-and-drop support).QTIndexSwapper gives you the possibility to either add a custom H.264 file or specify the folder that contains the needed files for conversion.

How it works

The application doesn’t allow you to pick a saving directory and it actually stores the videos in the same folders where the original ones are kept. The processed items have the “qtp” characters at the end of the filename so you can easily distinguish between them.What’s more, you can check out a log displayed at the bottom part of the main window which includes information about the tweaking process. You may clear the log with just one click and filter the folder files by file extension.
