OGMcleaver : This little program extracts video, audio and subtitle tracks from OGM and MKV files.
Things can get a little tense when you really need to get your hands on just a part of a video file, be it the video itself, the music that is playing, or even the subtitle, if the circumstances allow it. Luckily, people around the world have taken this problem seriously and came up with applications that can help you in such situations. OGMcleaver makes no exception when it comes to this job.
Simple interface for a fast result
Leaving aside the fact that no installation is required, which buys you precious time, the application also makes use of only one main window. Every button and options will be found there, so you can focus more on your actual work, rather than figuring out how to use this tool.A center space where you simply drag files from which to extract audio or video, a field in which the “Output directory” can be chosen, and the big “Extract tracks!” button which is needless to say what it does.
Can only be used for certain file types
As the name suggests, you may only get your hands on audio, or video bits from OGM and MKV files. However, even if the application supports it, you will be trapped into only having access to OGM, MKV requiring a different brother set of tools. On the functionality side, it does its job well, with nothing more to mention. It would have been useful though, for a larger range of file types to be accepted.
In conclusion
All in all, OGMcleaver is as straight forward as can get. With the name justifying its actions, it's only up to you look for those OGM files that hold the precious audio, or video bits you might want to make use of.
