MPEG4 Bitrate Calculator is a tiny and portable application you can use to calculate the video bit rate of a movie file based on its size, length and audio bit rate. It comes in handy when you're preparing to use video processing tools.

No setup required

The entire program's packed in a single executable file that can be saved to a preferred directory on the disk or copied to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly launch it on any computer.It doesn't modify system registry settings, create files on the HDD without your permission, or need DLLs or other components to work properly. In order to eliminate it, it's only necessary to delete this .exe item.

Easily calculate the video bit rate

The interface is user-friendly. It consists of a single small window with a simple design and neatly structured layout, showing all options put at your disposal. This way, you don't have to depend on multiple panels to perform easy tasks.In order to calculate the video bit rate (in Ko per seconds and Kb per seconds), you must know the size (Kb), movie length (seconds) and audio bit rate (Ko / seconds). These values can be either typed or pasted from the Clipboard into their corresponding fields.

How it works

Calculations are instantly performed and the results are listed in a red font. Although there are no buttons implemented for copying information to the Clipboard, printing it, or exporting it to file, it's possible to select and copy text by opening the right-click menu or by triggering the global keyboard shortcut.Negative values are accepted. However, the tool displays an error dialog and crashes if at least one of the three fields remain empty when attempting to calculate the bit rate.

Evaluation and conclusion

The program hasn't received updates for a long time. However, we managed to get it up and running on newer Windows models. Tasks were carried out fast while CPU and RAM usage was minimal.
