Pixlr-o-matic is an application that was developed using Adobe AIR, and enables you to edit your photos by applying one of the many vintage filters provided to them.

You are required to go through a pretty simple setup process, which does not bring any unpleasant offers from third-party products.The interface of the program is attractive and easy to navigate through for all types of users, including those less experienced with computers, as it encompasses a minimal design. Moreover, it is built as a wizard, guiding you from step to step.

Import capabilities and selecting the filters you want to use

In order to get started, you can easily select a photograph from your hard disk, as long as it comes in a JPEG, JPG or PNG format, as well as use one of the sample images provided by Pixlr-o-matic, or simply take a picture with your web camera.It comes bundled with a large amount of effects, overlays and frames you can use with the help of a gauge. Although you cannot manually adjust these filters, you can mix and match them until you obtain the desired result.

Crop pictures and save results to the PC

In addition to that, you can take advantage of a button which randomly selects effects, or you can automatically crop a photo to make it square with just a click.Once you are satisfied with your work, you can either save the respective photograph to a custom location using a JPG format or you can upload it on a file sharing website, with a minimal amount of effort.

The program does not take up a large amount of system resources and did not freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. The interface is intuitive and there are loads of filters at your disposal.All in all, Pixlr-o-matic is a program that comes packed with limited but very attractive features that will surely please users. We mainly recommend it to beginners or people interested in creating retro photos with just a few clicks.
