Amethyst DWG-2-DWG is an application that you can use to convert items between DWG and DXF. But it can also make drawings compatible for multiple AutoCAD versions, from 2.5 through 2007.The interface of the program is based on a standard window. Adding files to the list can be done by using either the file browser, tree view or "drag and drop" functionality. It is possible to handle more than one item at the same time.The file queue lets you view the source path and status of each entry. So, all you have to do is specify the output profile and directory, in order to proceed with the conversion procedure.In the "Options" area you can specify the location of supported and temporary files, along with the type for temporary files. Additionally, you can remove an item from the list or clear the entire file queue, include subdirectories, as well as set Amethyst DWG-2-DWG to overwrite existing files, maintain the folder structure and to add a version prefix to the files. Last but not least, you can access a log file and use CAD Viewer to check out AutoCAD drawings.The program needs a low amount of CPU and system memory, in order to finish a task briefly. It is very responsive, includes a help file and manages to keep a good graphics quality of the output files. We have not encountered any issues throughout our testing; Amethyst DWG-2-DWG did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, you cannot set the tool to open the output directory after conversion. Plus, the interface needs some improvements.
