FusionViewer is an application that was designed to be an open source medical image display package. It is designed to improve the physician's ability to interpret the results of combined positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) studies. As PET/CT combined studies are increasingly being used for the diagnosis, treatment decisions, and follow-up of cancer patients, improving the interpretive value of these studies would directly benefit cancer patients. This display application is meant to validate and improve visualization. It facilitates the quantitative measurements on the fused image series.
