ePhotoShow : A cool photo frame to sit on your desktop to display favorite pictures with different frame styles to choose from, picture adjustment, and transparency option
The desktop is not just a place to store all shortcuts for quick launch, and it can also serve as a place for entertainment. Apart from the wallpaper, various objects and tools can be placed on the workspace for pure pleasure, and with the help of ePhotoShow you can keep a picture wrapped around a cool frame.
Different frames to choose from
A photo frame appears on your desktop right on launch. Textures used in the design are of high-quality, and you can even choose from six different types of frame. This is done either from the associated tray icon, or the context menu. You can move it around the desktop to any suitable spot. Sadly, it can’t be resized, or minimized to the tray area through hotkeys, but there is a menu option to hide.More visual options make it possible to adjust the level of transparency. It would have been useful to see an option to set window layer priority, because it can easily go in the background. Just to have it ready by the time you reach the desktop there’s a dedicated option to make it run on startup.
Good, but far from being a pro
Loading a picture can’t be done through a drag and drop operation, so you need to use the browse dialog. You’re able to target formats like JPG, JPEG, BMP, PNG, and GIF files, but the latter type can only be static, because animated GIF files don’t play.Unfortunately, you can only load one picture, and you need to manually change it once it starts to bore you. There’s no possibility to create a slideshow out of an entire collection, which would have been a big plus on practicality.
On an ending note
All things considered, we can state that ePhotoShow is a cool addition to your desktop, mostly because of the high-quality textured frames, and neat variety. It can run on startup so it’s always on, but without the option to load animated GIF files, or to create a slideshow, the fun can easily wear off.
