Pixel Component is a useful and accessible application that comes in handy when you want to view and alter your stored pictures and enter newly scanned images into the app.

Approachable and clear-cut layout

The installation is over with a few clicks and uncomplicated. It's wrapped in a well-organized and neat interface, offering a thumbnail view and a working area. It only supports JPG, TIF, BMP and PNG formats.

Arrange your scanned items in the desired order

The picture can be rotated to left and right, and flipped horizontally and vertically. If you are scanning multiple pages, it's possible to navigate through them using the next and back arrows and insert blank or custom sheets between them. You can also use the selection function to zoom in a specific area of the image to view small details.

Apply corrections and enhance the photo attributes

Pixel Component lets you adjust the brightness, color balance, contrast, gamma and sharpen, by dragging the slider to the desired location until you're happy with the result.In addition, you can apply several filters to make the image look more vintage or in high detail. Among the offered ones, you can choose invert, grayscale, Gaussian blur, moire, random jitter, water, and pixelate.

Lack of some basic features

Unfortunately, the tool doesn't come with undo and redo functions to go back to the original design if a filter or a crop didn't go as planned. Plus, when modifying an option the change takes place after hitting the "Ok" button, not in real time. The output can be saved as TIF, BMP, JPG and PNG image formats.

Taking everything into account, Pixel Component is a handy and intuitive program designed to provide simple methods to view and alter pictures either from the computer or using the connected scanner, as well as apply filters and effects.
