Texview is a lightweight and portable piece of software that gives you the possibility to explore graphics files with textures. It does not include any complicated options or customization preferences, making it suitable to all types of users, whether they have previous experience with this kind of tools or not.

No installation necessary

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can save the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch Texview. There is also the possibility to copy it to a pen drive or other type of removable storage unit to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.In addition, unlike most installers, Texview does not add new entries to the Windows registry or create extra files on the disk without your permission, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.

Simple interface and options

The GUI is user-friendly, based on a large window with a plain and simple structure, where you can use an Explorer-based tree view to navigate disk directories and locate images with textures. The app offers support for BMP, JPG and GIF-formatted files.You can preview the textures in the main frame, copy the image or file's path to the Clipboard, send the file to the Recycle Bin, as well as set the current photo as the desktop wallpaper (only if it's BMP). There are no other notable options provided by this piece of software.

Evaluation and conclusion

There were no problems in our tests, thanks to the fact that Texview did not freeze, crash or display error notifications. Its impact on PC performance was low, since it used a light amount of CPU and RAM. On the other hand, Texview has not been updated for a very long time, and this is clearly noticeable after viewing its interface. Nevertheless, this tool provides users with a fast and simple method to viewing textures.
