MindMap is a lightweight software application designed specifically for helping you create mind maps where you can visually organize information.

Portable running mode

The portability status of the utility ensures no entries are left in your Windows registry, so you can uninstall it using a simple deletion task.What’s more, you can store it on portable media devices and run it on the target system by simply opening the executable file (there’s no setup included in the process).

User interface

You are welcomed by a clutter-free interface where there are no buttons and toolbars for creating mind maps. This is not a classical GUI where you can make use of preset objects and drawing tools.MindMap runs only in full screen mode so you cannot resize the main panel. There’s no support for a help manual, only some tips are displayed in the main window about how to make use of the program’s capabilities.

Define mind maps

The application gives you the possibility to perform a left-click on the working environment in order to create a new map or right-click to browse for a saved MindMap project file.What’s more, you are allowed to enter the subject or topic of your mind map and move the mouse cursor over any colored area in order to change the mouse icon to crosshair. Once you can view the crosshairs, you can define the start and end of a branch.MindMap does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.

All things considered, MindMap integrates a basic feature pack for helping you define mind maps and can be used for creating basic projects without embedding any complex objects. On the downside, it hasn’t been updated for a long time, so you can make use of its capabilities especially on older operating systems.
