Image2XAML : Convert common images to vectorized XAML or SVG files, control the detailing and color difference of the neighbor segments, and preview results
With the help of Image2XAML you can seamlessly vectorize image files with common formats and save them to XAML or SVG filetype. It offers support for PNG, BMP, JPG, GIF and TIF for the input graphic files, among other formats.
Installer, prerequisites, and interface
The setup procedure is a fast job that shouldn't impose any difficulties, since there are no special settings or third-party offers involved. However, you must have .NET Framework installed before launching this app. When it comes to the interface, Image2XAML opts for a single window split into three panes for loading the image and adjusting vectorization settings in just a few clicks. This can be done even by unskilled users.
Customize vectorization options
You can preview the original photo in a small embedded frame, customize vectorization properties by adjusting the level of detailing along with the color difference for the neighbor segments, preview results, as well as start the task. This may take a while, depending on the size of the photo and settings applied. Afterward, you can instruct the tool to save results to XAML or SVG format, and you can open the new files to inspect results. There are no other options worth mentioning.
Evaluation and conclusion
It carried out jobs in a decent amount of time in our tests, during which Image2XAML remained light on system resources consumption, as it consumed low CPU and memory. There were no stability issues, such as hanging, crashing or displaying error dialogs.Too bad that it doesn't integrate batch processing support to be able to vectorize two or more image files at the same time. Plus, it's not explicit concerning the supported filetypes for the input images, and the interface needs some improvements in the graphical department. Nevertheless, Image2XAML serves its purpose and can be used for free.
