MMH Split2.0

MMH Split is an application designed to join and split parts into multiple parts. It's capable of creating a self-extracting executable for merging the files back together, and of verifying file integrity via CRC32 hash.

Installation and interface

The setup procedure doesn't take long and the only notable aspect about it is that it requires .NET Framework. As for the interface, it adopts a regular window split into multiple panes for splitting and joining files, as well as for configuring options.In order to cut a file, all you have to do is specify the source and output destination, along with the size of each smaller volume (bytes, KB, MB, GB, TB). Optionally, the tool can create a self joiner, so that the pieces may be appended without using MMH Split.

When it comes to the merging operation, you can indicate any part of the volume to reconstruct the original file, as long as all remaining ones exist in the same directory. Moreover, the program can be asked to check file integrity via CRC-32.As far as general preferences are concerned, you can set the buffer size and main thread priority, integrate the utility into the Windows Explorer shell extension for quick access, shut down the PC automatically on task completion, generate SFV checksums, delete the original files after joining or splitting, as well as create a log file for the SFV checkup result.

Evaluation and conclusion

It carried out file splitting and merging job swiftly in our tests, during which it remained light on system resources consumption. We haven't come across any stability issues, as it didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages.To sum it up, MMH Split facilitates a user-friendly interface for cutting and combining files, and it can be handled with ease by anyone.
