Screen Capture : Take a snapshot of the entire screen using this Java-based application that automatically saves the images to JPEG format in any preferred folder
Developed in Java, Screen Capture is a small-sized piece of software that can take a snapshot of the entire screen and save it to file automatically. It doesn't come packed with complex options or configuration settings.
Needs Java Runtime Environment to work properly
Provided that you already have Java installed on your PC, you don't need to set up anything else. Instead, you can just copy the downloaded files to a custom directory on the disk and double-click the executable .jar file to launch the utility. It doesn't add new entries to the system registry. As far as the interface is concerned, Screen Capture opts for a small window with a plain and simple appearance, containing a limit set of actions.
Click a button to capture the entire screen
To take fullscreen images, you just have to click the green button and repeat this action every time you want to capture a new photo. All photos are autosaved to a directory on the disk and have the JPG extension. However, you can point out any other preferred location.
Autosaves all photos to file
Unfortunately, this is everything provided by Screen Capture. It's not possible to exclude the program's window from the snapshots, and there are no keyboard shortcuts available for taking shots, which would've been useful when working with various applications in fullscreen mode. Only the JPG format is supported and there's no option for adjusting the photo quality.
Unimpressive screenshot tool
Screen Capture is the type of program aimed at users looking for a fast and convenient way of taking screenshots without going through the trouble of manually saving each image to file.It worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests and had minimal impact on the computer's performance. Sadly, it doesn't have enough features to make it more practical.
