Overview

What is FNFSync?

FNFSync : Have important files and folders copied from one location to another, with options to target only new files, or even keep both folders with the same content at all times

In depth

A closer look at FNFSync

It doesn’t take long to copy files or folders of great importance to a safe location, and is the easiest way to create a backup of stuff you don’t want to lose any time soon. However, this process can also be automated thanks to the abundance of applications like FNFSync that monitor two folders and automatically creates backups.

Lightweight and easy to use

The application gets installed in no time at all, but before doing so, you might want to check whether or not the target PC is fitted with .NET Framework, because it’s one of the main requirements. Once launched, an intuitive interface shows up, with all functions in plain sight, letting even inexperienced individuals accommodate in a jiffy.Needless to say that you need to select two folders for the operation. Sadly, these can’t be dropped over the main window, and neither is there a context menu entry for quick selection. After using the browse dialog to pick source and destination folders, these need to be validated, but this is done in a second.

Multiple sync methods

FNFSync is capable of carrying out three different kinds of sync methods. The first two are used to copy files and folders from source to destination or the other way around, while the other makes sure both folders contain the same files and directory structures. In addition, there’s the possibility to have either the source or destination monitored, so that sync is automatically performed.Apart from general options, there are also a few dedicated to the copy process itself. As such, you can decide whether to copy non-existent files to keep them backed up in the destination, copy everything and have older entries removed, or perform a fresh copy while overwriting everything each time.

To sum it up

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that FNFSync is a lightweight and easy to use application that can help you automate the process of backing up important files and folders. Sadly, only one pair of folders can be monitored, but the set of options make sure the process is put in motion when changes are detected, with different types of sync at your disposal.
