What is ToolBox?

ToolBox : Collection of multipurpose command-line tools for setting a default browser, starting processes with delay, replacing strings in files, and more

In depth

A closer look at ToolBox

It's always handy to keep a collection of multipurpose system utilities at arm's reach, even if you don't need to perform a particular action right away.ToolBox represents a package of command-line tools with various goals, from scheduling applications to run with delay or changing the date stamps of folders to making a web browser default even if it's portable or sorting all lines within a text document.

Nifty collection of multipurpose system tools

All tools are independent, so their processes can be separately called from a command prompt instance. To find out the available switches, you just have to run a process by entering its name and nothing else (descriptions are shown in popup windows). For example, NetTime can be used to synchronize the PC clock with any SNTP server you specify. There's a list of supported servers piled in a text document, which you can modify to set custom servers if necessary.

Set a portable browser as default, synchronize the PC clock, and more

DefaultBrowser can be used by simply establishing the full path to the portable web browser you want to set as default (it doesn't necessarily have to be portable). Meanwhile, DosWin is capable of turning dBase or plain text files into ASCI or ANSI code.SysUtil extends keyboard functionality when it comes to Windows. For example, it makes it possible to empty the recycle bin, minimize all windows to the taskbar, restore all, shut down, reboot or restart the computer, or turn off the monitor by just pressing one key.

Small-sized and practical collection of portable apps

The tiny utilities worked well on the newest Windows iteration during our evaluation. Unsurprisingly, they had minimal impact on the computer's performance. Taking into account the practicality of this software suite, ToolBox comes in handy for all users.
