For those who use their workstation every day or on an extremely regular basis, it can become difficult to quickly search for a specific file or type of file without having to perform a slow search. FindDoc is an application that allows users to perform a search for DOC or XLS files, with the option to copy documents to a specific location.

An extremely basic interface that many users will find either confusing or difficult to use

The interface that FindDoc is not really an interface and instead just a Command Prompt screen that users can enter commands in. It is extremely basic and many users would not consider it a proper program by some definitions.Some users might not be comfortable using a command prompt either, since while it can be straightforward to use in some respects, they present users with advanced system information and additional information that is not always easy to understand.

A limited set of functions, with no real settings or support functions to speak of

Given the command prompt nature of the application it would be odd if FindDoc did present many options, in that regard it doesn’t disappoint and allows users to perform a very basic search. The additional features of being able to copy files are not customizable, if it can copy them, it automatically pastes them the same drive FindDoc is located on.There are a number of search programs out there and many of which are lightweight in file size, the lack of any system usage with FindDoc is not a sufficient advantage for most people. A bigger issue is that it can only search for two types of files, when arguably, since it is working via command prompts, it could be achievable to make it search for any type.

Not a useful application for most people that is easily exceeded by most other similar search programs

FindDoc might appeal to a small niche of users who monitor their system usage very strictly and want a way to search for files without inflicting a toil on it. For everyone else, FindDoc is not a viable option and there are many applications that do the same thing or better, with more options and more customization.
