What is ClipCase?

ClipCase : Paste clean text by having it processed right after it's copied, with options to remove empty lines, unnecessary spaces, or change letter casing

In depth

A closer look at ClipCase

Although it not exactly a thing you can see, the Windows clipboard is a pretty important feature, as it can “clone” anything using simple key combinations. It’s impossible to imagine using the computer without it. In case you happen to rely on it for most tasks you perform, especially when working with text, then ClipCase can help clean or edit text before pasting.

Mostly sits in the system tray

As soon as it starts, the application minimizes to the tray area, with no prompt to let you know it’s there. Interacting with the icon brings up a compact main window, with several associated controls, as well as a text input field where processed text is shown. However, all controls can be accessed from the tray icon menu for more comfort. The application doesn’t waste any of your time, even though there are multiple options, and it seems like you have to hit Process before actually pasting the text where needed. Luckily, there’s an autoprocess option you can enable, which processes the text immediately after you copy it, according to the options you pick.

Little to no effort required on your behalf

When copying text, some locations include a lot of text, or returns, and it can get frustrating to tweak it every time it’s pasted. As such, ClipCase gives you the possibility to have all additional spaces removed, even unnecessary returns, blank lines, double spaces, or apostrophes. There’s a bit more you can do. As the name might suggest, the application can also change the casing of characters. This can be done by converting all characters to uppercase, lowercase, cap sentences, cleanse, or make every word start with a capital letter. Unfortunately, there’s no option to make it run with Windows, but you can manually add it to the startup folder to bypass this issue.

In conclusion

All things considered, we can safely state that ClipCase is a powerful extension to the default Windows clipboard. It helps remove unnecessary formatting options, change letter casing, or trim large paragraphs. The main advantage is that the whole process is done in a jiffy, and you’re only required to set options of interest, and copy paste as you normally do.
