Straightforward interface and options

The GUI is user-friendly, made from a standard window with a classical look and neatly structured layout, showing all settings put at your disposal.While scrolling the list, you can check out the name and ID of each currently active process, in addition to the computer name. Any entry from the list can be selected to kill the corresponding process with the click of a button.Apart from the fact that you can refresh information, there are no other notable settings provided by this program.

No setup required, besides .NET Framework

The entire utility's packed in a single executable file that can be copied to a preferred directory on the disk or to a USB flash drive, in order to directly run it on any PC.It doesn't update your system registry with new entries or create files on the disk without asking for permission. However, you must have .NET Framework installed to be able to get it up and running. In order to uninstall it, you simply have to delete this item.

Evaluation and conclusion

It didn't put a strain on the computer's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. The application remained stable throughout its runtime, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or indicate errors.On the other hand, Alternate Task Manager is a pretty basic task manager without additional features for experienced users looking for more versatility. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself.
