What is STimer?

STimer : A simple, portable tool that allows you to schedule your computers power-down options, including shutdown, reboot, logoff and power off

In depth

A closer look at STimer

While we cannot deny that computers have become an integral part of our everyday lives, it comes as no surprise that we can sometimes lose track of time and get carried away with all our work, Internet browsing, and gaming sessions. With that in mind, STimer comes as an easy solution for anyone that wants to respect a certain schedule.

An Internet Cafe-inspired app

While the app cannot be used to control how much time each activity on the PC will consume, you can use it to determine when to automatically shut it down altogether. This makes it a great solution if you live with someone that spends way too much time in front of the monitor, for example, your kids.

A simple app that matches its functionality

The app in itself is pretty simple, as it is made up of two brackets, and four selectable options. The first bracket is where you insert the remaining time, which is measured in minutes, while the second one is where you set a certain hour as the shutdown time.As for the other four selectable options, one is for choosing to shut the PC down for good; another one is for scheduling a reboot, the third one is for a user log off, and the fourth one is for total PC shutdown.

Abort your timers

The app is not as restrictive as it sounds, as once you set a timer, it doesn't mean that you have to wait in dread for it to go off and your system to shut down since it can always be aborted. This places the program somewhere in between an alarm and an app that would otherwise force you to log back in or start your PC again, thus discouraging you to continue your binge.

Stick to your schedule and browse in moderation

STimer may not seem to do much, but it can be great as a reminder for you to stick to a schedule, especially during late night binges.
