G.U. - Windows Run Time is a small-sized and portable application you can use to monitor your computer's uptime to find out for how long has been running, along with the starting date and time.It contains just a couple of intuitive settings that can be easily tackled, even by those with minimal or no previous experience in system tools.

View the system uptime

As far as the interface goes, the utility opts for a small rectangular window with a simple design and neatly structured layout, where you can view all options available.The system uptime is automatically detected at startup, so you can check out the date and time of the last PC boot, in addition to the number of elapsed hours, minutes and seconds.

Minimize to the systray

The app can be minimized to the system tray area to become non-intrusive and continue to monitor the machine's uptime while giving you the possibility to carry on with your normal desktop activity without any interruptions.It only shows a balloon message to signal its presences on minimization. However, even if you exit and restart the program, you'll notice that the Windows runtime is up to date.

No installer required, besides .NET Framework

There is no setup pack involved. Instead, you can copy the downloaded files to a custom directory on the PC and just double-click the .exe to get G.U. - Windows Run Time up and running.However, make sure to have .NET Framework installed, since it was developed with the aid of this platform. Otherwise, the app doesn't change your system registry configuration or create files on the disk without your permission.

Evaluation and conclusion

It didn't put a strain on the machine's performance in our tests, since it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up in our testing, and it didn't hang or crash. Thanks to its approachable interface and options, G.U. - Windows Run Time can be seamlessly handled.
