Off Grid Calculator is a software tool whose sole purpose is to aid people interested in going green, to calculate the size of the solar panel they would need according to their configuration.

Easy-to-use environment

You are met with a simple and clean interface, as it only encloses several buttons and a few boxes in which you can input information, and a pen in which to view all items you have added as consumers. Although there are no Help contents enclosed, it is possible for all user categories to easily find their way around this product, mostly due to its simplistic GUI.

Information you can add and start the calculating process

This utility comes packed with several items you can use as consumers (e.g. laptop, desktop, fridge, fan, printer etc.), while you can also input quantity, the number of watts it consumes and the approximate number of hours you use it.Aside from that, you can also input information such as autonomy (in days), battery volts and the cost of electricity in your country. With just a click of the button, the program is going to make calculation and bring up a new window with your results.

View results and print them

The final report is going to contain details such as units per month you consume, money you could save per month, space required (in square feet), solar panel in KWp and inverted size KW, and it is possible to print all this data with just a click of the button.

A last evaluation

It does not hamper the system’s performance as it requires small amount of CPU and memory, while the response time is quite good.All things considered, it is safe to say that Off Grid Calculator is a useful piece of software which is suitable to all types of users. It did not pop up any errors, crash or hang in our tests.
