Overview

What is FindEXE?

FindEXE : Locate potential viruses and worms hiding in non-executable files

In depth

A closer look at FindEXE

FindEXE is a simple command line that will quickly search one or more paths and locate executable files with conventionally non executable file extensions. Such files may be viruses or trojan programs trying to hide from virus scanners (e.g. a JPG file which really contains an executable virus). Scans every file in the specified paths, and lists all which are potentially executable. This program quickly scans all the files in the specified paths (and the files in all subdirectories), searching for files which do not have executable file extensions, but which are in fact executable.
