CPU Speed : View the available speed of your CPU updating in real-time in a small, intuitive window thanks to this straightforward, lightweight application
There are those programs which you can keep running for ages and the computer doesn't feel a thing, while others require a buffed up PC to function. Regardless of the case, it’s a good idea to have resource consumption under control, and CPU Speed is a straightforward tool which lets you know the available CPU amount.
Shows available CPU in real-time
First of all, the application isn’t packed inside a setup package, so you can check out the set of features from the moment download is done. More than this, it’s possible to have it stored on a USB flash drive in case you want or need to use it on other computers, without putting stability at risk, because registry entries are not modified in the process. The application doesn’t necessarily have to be launched with administrator privileges, and it’s capable of detecting the right values right from the start. A system restart isn’t required either, so you can check the CPU status right away. As the name clearly points out, the application displays the speed of your Central Processing Unit.
Doesn’t log events or display usage graph
This is done in a rather disappointing manner. Although aesthetics are not the center of attention here, the application uses too much empty space and only displays CPU in a single form, with no possible options. The value is displayed in MHz, and updates in real time. The displayed value represents the available CPU.Unfortunately, the value is of little to no use to you, mostly because usage of programs you run can greatly vary, depending on the task at hand, so you can’t really estimate based on the numerical value. Moreover, it would have been useful to see a usage graph to get an idea of when your PC was under a lot of pressure.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that CPU Speed comes with good intentions, but isn’t really the CPU monitor you might be looking for. The design leaves much to be desired, while info displayed is of little to no use, even on the long run.
