is a command-line software package which contains HaBala: a harmonic balance circuit simulator, as well as a SPICE-to-HaBala translator, and several utilities.
HbFree lets you simulate radio-frequency (RF) and microwave (MW) analog, non-autonomous circuits under multi-tone excitations. It allows the following components to be used: R, L, C, transmission lines, V and I sources, diodes, and MESFETs.
The program calculates the steady state response of non-autonomous circuits via iterative processes by solving non-linear circuit equations in the frequency domain.
HbFree implements a piecewise harmonic balance technique with 2D FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) to handle a few monochrome sources. While the input language is very close to SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis), the output format is raw SPICE ASCII.
It enables additional elements to be used: S- and Y-matrices of 2N poles, strip- and micro-strip transmission lines, and several discontinuities.
