CPL Commander is a straightforward application that aims to provide an easy approach to managing the items inside the Control Panel section of your Windows OS.CPL Commander implements the possibility to control the Control Panel to its tiniest detail, being fit for situations where users are overwhelmed with the amount of options inside it.If you’re identifying yourself in this scenario, CPL Commander can help you build your own version of the Control Panel that contains only the items you need, all the others remaining invisible.Wrapped up inside a simplistic design, CPL Commander isn’t the best looking application, but it is intuitive and easy-to-use, fit for users who are less experienced in the IT industry.It displays all of the options that the Windows Control Panel sports, allowing you to uncheck the ones that you want gone and then to apply the changes just by the press of a button.Keep in mind though that the program only works with the Classic View approach of the Control Panel (not the category view), so before you check if the changes have been performed, turn the view to Large or Small icons. Reverting the changes can be done simply by pressing the ‘Reset’ button.We’ve tested it on both Windows 7 and 8, with better responsiveness on the former. On Windows 8, performing the changes took some time, not to mention that we had to restart explorer.exe ourselves in order to return to our activity.The general impression that CPL commander makes is that of a trustworthy application especially that it provides the means to undo whatever changes you’ve made in the past. Better compatibility with Windows 8 could significantly increase its value.
