If you look for an audio/video player that offers some basic sound editing controls, a radio tuner and a retro interface, BestPlay Multimedia Audio and Video Player might be a good choice.

Classic looking interface

The interface has an outdated feeling and holds most of the options at sight. You have the possibility to switch between skins with the push of a single button.A second interface ("Classic Interface") can be an activated, but it feels a bit counter-intuitive as a part of the options are simple buttons and not icons.

Listen to online radio stations

After the installation is done you can notice that the folder contains the "BestPlay Internet Radio Tuner v1.0". This tool has a list of genres, and each one is holding a different number of radio station URLs.The same tuner can be found inside the main interface but it will not have the same audio settings as the standalone. Please note that most of the radio shortcuts are not functional anymore either due to expiration or link modification.

Recording and saving as media files

Aside from the player and the radio tuner, a recorder can also be found in this package. Simply connect a microphone to your system, record your voice or any sound you like and save it as a media file.

Video supported formats

BestPlay supports a broad selection of formats: DAT, AVI, MPG, MOV, CDA, MID, RMI, WAV, MPA, etc. All supported formats are listed in the "Options" tab.

To sum it up, this player is not a high-end tool, but for nostalgics, it may be a perfect choice as the first thing that meets the eye is the retro-looking interface and the settings placement that resemble a boombox control panel. A weak spot will be the links listed in the radio tuner: broken or obsolete ones are still displayed and clicking every one of them can feel like a redundant effort. An interesting feature is a Tetris mini-game called "Anti boring game" that can be accessed from the main interface and can be enjoyed anytime as it is launched in a separate window.
