It runs in the systray and doesn't contain configuration settings, but only a couple of options.This type of software comes in handy whenever you want to keep track of utilized memory while working with resource-demanding programs, such as video games or complex graphic editors.

Compatibility issues with newer Windows

Before proceeding any further, you should know that this tool hasn't been updated for a long time and has compatibility issues with later Windows editions which prevent it from launching (although it can be successfully installed). However, you can still use it on older OSes, such as Windows XP.

Setup, prerequisites, and systray runtime

Setting it up doesn't take long, since there aren't any unfamiliar options bundled with the wizard steps. .NET Framework must be installed, though, since it was built using this platform.As soon as it starts running, Memory Checker gets integrated into the taskbar notifications area and monitors your system memory.

Easily view RAM usage

You can double-click the tray icon to bring up a small window in the center of the screen, in order to find out the total page file space, total physical and virtual memory, along with the available virtual memory.All values are expressed in megabytes. The same information can be obtained by hovering the mouse over the tray icon to view a balloon message. There are no other notable options provided by his software application.

Evaluation and conclusion

Unsurprisingly, it didn't hog system resources in our tests. Too bad that Memory Checker hasn't been updated for such a long time and it cannot be used on the latest Windows versions anymore. On top of that, it doesn't have richer features, such as setting indicators for high RAM.
