It might be a little confusing when creating the new database, because there’s no way you can see what’s inside. What’s more, if you don’t pay attention to the status bar, you can end up scratching your head, thinking the application did nothing.Moving on to the search files category, things become slightly clearer. You need to know that search is only performed in the directory you select in the previous tab, which acts as the database you’re supposed to create. However, files aren’t directly enlisted, and you have to use the search field to find something to play.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that mp3Genie is a combination between the possibility to create an organized database of your songs, and a built-in player. However, the approach on the situation is rather confusing, with no option to actually view the database, and playback is only possible for specific songs you look for.
