Yellowpile : Populate your desktop with eye-catching sticky notes that allow you to customize the color and font of your text and should help you create one-time or recurring reminders
While absorbed in your work, the chances are you might get great ideas that you may want to write down. Turning to sticky notes is one the most comfortable ways of doing that since they are always readily accessible.Yellowpile is one such application that lets you populate your desktop with as many colored sticky notes as you want, which you can customize as you see fit so that you can effortlessly organize them based on their relevance or priority.
Lets you customize the color note and text font
Once you have created a note with Yellowpile, you can type or paste text to it, with support for a multitude of font styles and sizes being provided. What’s more, changing the text color is possible, which is great since you can thus make it fit the shade of the note. There are a series of pre-defined options in this regard, and generating custom colors should offer even more flexibility.Aside from that, it is worth pointing out that making a note visible on top of any window should prevent you from neglecting priorities. What’s more, importing or exporting notes should allow you to easily share them with other people or to store them for later use.
Integrates a questionable scheduler
Another feature the application boasts but that, unfortunately, we have been unable to test successfully is the scheduler, which should allow you to turn your notes into notifications. You can create one-time or recurring events that you can be reminded of via system tray notifications, animations, or audio signals. This would obviously be a great feature, but during our tests on our 64-bit Windows 10 as well as 32-bit Windows 8.1 computers, we could not see it actually work, with no notification whatsoever being pushed.
Does not stand out from the crowd
All in all, Yellowpile is a decent app that allows you to juggle with text customizations and that tries to be more than your regular desktop note solution. Nevertheless, as far as we have seen during our tests, the extent to which it actually manages to do that is arguable, considering that one of its most important features are currently not working as it should. But there is obviously room for improvement.
