Overview

What is ScreenPaper?

ScreenPaper : Bring your desktop to life and make it suit your style by turning system screensavers into your desktop background for and enhanced working or leisure environment

In depth

A closer look at ScreenPaper

A computer is now a personal virtual space, with the possibility for each individual that uses a computer to fully customize his running profile with an abundance of visual settings. Wallpapers are with you all the way through and screensavers keep your screen busy when the computer is idle. In an attempt to fuse wallpapers and screensavers, ScreenPaper puts a simple set of controls at your disposal to animate your background.

Easy selection from a drop-down menu

You quickly get the hand of what the application has to offer, with a compact interface being home to all tools you get to work with and the process triggering at the press of a button. What's more, you can keep it on a removable device to use on the go.The application automatically detects system screensavers so if you want to add custom ones note that there's no other way other than placing them in the path where all default ones are found. These can easily be selected from a drop-down menu, with the possibility to access the settings menu to make them suit your style.

Covers your desktop and icons

However, it's enough to preview the result to make you want to look for the “Exit” button. This is because functionality is anything but flawless, and you quickly end up with your desktop covered in a layer that plays your selected screensaver. As such, desktop icons are inaccessible, with only the taskbar remaining intact, as well as other windows that happen to be active. This is rather frustrating, cutting a great deal of practicality, even though the idea behind the concept is neat, especially because you can run more screensavers at a time.

Poor implementation of features

Frustration continues as you rush to revert changes, because pressing “Exit” only closes the main window and leaves the screen covered in screensavers. The only way to close them is hunting down corresponding processes in the task manager.

In conclusion

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that ScreenPaper is a poor choice when it comes to desktop enhancements. In an attempt to combine wallpapers and screensavers, the result is an annoying layer of screensavers that continue to run and make your desktop inaccessible, other than making it suit your style.
