You can get started by selecting a preferred folder for saving videos, whether it's in a local, removable or network location. In the next step, all you have to do is pick the preferred encoder by selecting one of the two options from a drop-down menu: screen video with high-quality audio (constant bit rate) or Windows Media Video 8 for LAN (384kbps).Orandy Screen Capture assigns the file name automatically ("MyRecordedVideo") with the AVI extension. Worth noting is that existing video clips are overwritten by new ones without any confirmation, so you should make sure to rename the files or move them to a different place.

It didn't hamper the machine's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it required little CPU and memory to work. No errors were shown by Orandy Screen Capture, and it didn't freeze or crash. The program hasn't been updated by the developer for a long time, but we didn't have any compatibility issues on newer Windows.On the other hand, it lacks more advanced options for experimented users interested in configuring the output settings for audio sample rate or video aspect ratio, for example. Nevertheless, the application offers a simple solution for recording your desktop's activity to create video files for YouTube tutorials or other purposes.
