Park Cursor Aside : Have the cursor gently moved outside the writing area as soon as you start typing, with different location, and movement options to configure
Using your laptop keyboard can sometimes be a pain, especially if you accidentally touch the pad. Sure enough, it can be disabled in most cases, but you might not want to have the cursor near the text box. Just for this purpose, Park Cursor Aside is a neat application which automatically moves the cursor away from the writing area.
Lightweight, and easy to use
A neat advantage is that you don’t even have to install the application for it to function, which enables you to store, and use it from a thumb drive on other computers as well. Apart from flexibility, practicality is also enhanced, since registries don’t need to be modified for things to work out.The application directly goes to the tray area when launched, and interacting with the icon lets you either disable this function, or access the configuration panel. Even though there’s no tooltip to let you know it’s there, you probably realize once you start pressing a few keyboard buttons.
Configure where, and how the cursor moves
Default configurations instantly move the cursor away, but you might want to make this a more comfortable experience, or avoid accidentally triggering anything else. For instance, there’s an option to move the cursor inward from the screen edge, to prevent functions from triggering this way, if any.Furthermore, the application lets you decide which direction to move the cursor to, as well as the number of keystrokes after which to do this. For a cool transition, there’s a speed value field which makes movement slower, or instant.Sadly, there’s no built-in option to make it run with Windows, but manually adding a shortcut to the startup folder solves this issue. Moreover, you need to make sure that focus isn’t automatically switched to what’s under the cursor so you don’t mess things up.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Park Cursor Aside is a practical application to help make writing more comfortable. You need to be careful so the cursor movement doesn’t have any consequences, like losing focus. However, all functions run smooth, with neat customization options which make the application worth at least a try.
