Database Manager is a lightweight and very easy to handle software solution aimed to function as a means of adding, editing or removing entries from your DBF, XBF or DEF files.

Password protected access

After a brief and uneventful installation operation, you can start working with the application, but you will first need to input the default password, 'splash', which functions as a masterkey, granting you full access to Database Manager's functionality; this can later be changed.The program displays a very basic interface, with no particular features worth mentioning. Nonetheless, it is quite simple to understand, making it approachable for users of all levels of experience, despite addressing mainly novices.

Open, create or edit databases

In order to open a database, you need to access the 'File' menu and choose the 'Open Table' option, browsing through your computer and loading the DBF, DEF or XBF file that you need.Database Manager allows you to browse through the numerous entries in your file, using the buttons in the lower left corner of the main window. As such, you can jump to the 'First Record', 'Prior Record', 'Next Record' or 'Last Record'. Similarly, you can 'Insert Record', 'Edit Record' or 'Delete Marked Record'.At the same time, the application enables you to 'Create a New Table' in DBF format, by entering the 'Field Name', 'Field Type', 'Field Length' or 'Decimal Places', then choosing a table type between 'sxNtx', 'sxFox' and 'sxNsx'.Optionally, a DBF can be converted to DEF, using the buttons on the right edge of Database Manager, while also letting you convert the file to XML format. The utility allows you to 'Create Database Source', cipher the contents of the table using the 'Crypt' function and a password of your own devise.
