Hash Verifier : Qucickly calculate and compare the SHA1, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512, MD2 and MD5 checksums of your files to find out if they are identical
Hash Verifier is a small-sized tool developed in Java, which is capable of calculating the SHA1, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512, MD2 and MD5 signatures of your files. It features an intuitive set of options that can be figured out by all types of users.
No setup required, besides Java
If you already have Java on your machine, you don't need to set up anything else. This application is packed into a single .jnlp file that can be copied to a preferred spot on the hard disk or removable storage device to run it on any PC with little effort. No new entries are integrated into the Windows registry, and no new files are generated on the drive without you knowing about it.
Drop multiple files to verify checksums
The main application window has a tidy look and layout. One or more selected files can be imported by resorting to the file browser, drag-and-drop support, or by indicating a directory whose containing files you want to analyze. Just keep in mind that it's necessary to use the integrated tree view for the last mentioned option, as dropping a folder onto the control panel doesn't produce the same effect.Checksums are automatically calculated and revealed by clicking an entry from the list and by selecting the preferred type of signature from a dropdown menu. A hash can be copied to the Clipboard with one click.
Seamlessly calculate and compare hashes
Moreover, the utility implements a feature designed to compare a listed hash with another alphanumerical value you paste. If they match, it means that the files have an identical structure.Unfortunately, there are some minor inconveniences. For instance, the tool doesn't have an option for removing unwanted entries from the list or clearing everything to restart the job from scratch. On top of that, it's not possible to view and copy all hashes at once, nor to save this information to file.To wrap it up, Hash Verifier offers a simple and practical solution for checking and comparing file checksums.
