Index Checker : Find out if your websites are indexed by Google, Bing and Yahoo, and optionally apply a proxy configuration using this application
Amateur website developers have to resort to SEO tools to check the ranking of their domains on popular search engines. This way, they can figure out what issues have to be repaired to improve their website ranking and get closer to the first page of Google or Bing, among others.
Check if your websites are indexed by Google, Bing and Yahoo
Index Checker is a small-sized application that aims to simplify one aspect: finding out if your websites have been indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines. It features straightforward functions that require no kind of SEO experience, thanks to the fact that it does the hard work on its own.
Needs .NET Framework to work properly
It's not wrapped in a setup file, so you don't have to go through with its installation. On the other hand, you have to download and set up .NET Framework unless you already have it, as it was built using this software framework and cannot work without it.Once you fire up the tool and reach the main window, you will get an overview of all options put at your disposal, since they are shown in this panel and you don't have to waste time discovering additional ones.
Enter websites to run checkups
You just have to type or paste your URLs in the first box, select the search engine you want to run the checkup for (Google, Yahoo or Bing), and press "Check".Worth noting is that multiple websites can be verified at the same time. However, it's not possible to run the checkup on more than one domain.
View indexed and not indexed domains
Index Checker may take its time to process the information, after which it groups the indexed and not indexed websites in different boxes. There are no options implemented for saving any of this information to file. However, you can select text with your mouse and send it to the Clipboard from the right-click menu or by pressing Ctrl+C. There's also a feature for applying a proxy configuration to establish the Internet connection.
Faulty index checker that needs more work
Sadly, Index Checker was wrong in some cases in our testing, labeling Facebook and Yahoo as not indexed on Google. It seems that the tool needs a bit more work to become reliable.
