Checksum Checker is a tiny and portable piece of software that you can use to find out the CRC32 signature of any file type. It contains only basic settings that can be easily figured out, even by users with little or no experience in such apps.

Portability perks

Since installation is not a requirement, you can put the executable file in any part of the hard disk and click it to run. Another possibility is to save Checksum Checker to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.An important aspect to keep in mind is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, so there are no traces left behind after Checksum Checker's removal.

Straightforward interface and options

As far as the GUI is concerned, the app opts for a simple window with a clear-cut structure, where you can point out a file with the help of the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop method is not supported.Information is immediately shown in the main frame and it includes the size, checksum, type, compiler and packer name. The checksum can be copied to the Clipboard by making a selection and using the global hotkey or context menu entry. There are no other notable options provided by this software utility.

Finally

The app does not put a strain on PC performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Although it is not particularly resourceful, Checksum Checker gets the job done and can be used by anyone.
