Home FTP Client : Connect to a FTP server of your choice by simply punching in address and credentials, and easily navigate through folders to grab or upload anything of interest
The Internet gave birth to a whole bunch of activities, or different methods of approach to existing ones. Among other, file sharing quickly became a lot easier, with computers able to act as host servers from which individuals to grab files of interest. As such, Home FTP Client comes with the means to help you connect to a FTP server and download whatever you need.
Can be used on the go
With no installation involved, the application is good to go from the moment download is done. This means it can be carried around on a thumb drive in case you always want to have a quick method of connecting to a FTP server at hand. No registry entries are modified in the process, so the health status of the target PC remains intact. The window holds all elements you need to establish connection and process files. Server details need to be written down in the upper toolbar, where you find dedicated fields for host name, port, account name and password. Additionally, you can use explicit TLS for a bit more security. Credentials are saved so you directly connect the next time you run the program.
Quick access to file operations
The general structure of the interface might not be so appealing, but it sure is intuitive, with panels for both the content of the connected server, and your computer. A side panel provides quick access to some editing options like creating new folders, refreshing the items list, creating new directories, and navigating. There’s no attached context menu, so all operations need to be triggered through available functions. This doesn’t really make management more difficult, but it would have been useful to at least see a search function for faster detection of files of interest.
In conclusion
To sum it up, Home FTP Client is a practical application overall, letting you quickly connect to a FTP server of choice by simply punching in credentials. The file list is gathered in the blink of an eye, letting you download or upload files of interest with little effort.
