As there is no installation involved, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch the app. It is also possible to save Bulk Extractor to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.An important aspect worth taking into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and no extra files are created on the disk, thus leaving it clean after removal.

Evaluation and conclusion

The software utility extracts data rapidly while remaining light on system resources. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the tool did not hang or crash. Although it is not feature-rich, Bulk Extractor offers a very simple solution to extracting multi-part RAR archives encrypted with passwords, and it can be used by anyone.
