Key Tracker : Save all product keys in an organized database by adding items and corresponding keys with a function to automatically add hyphens and more
Most commercial applications and video games don’t run or even install without a unique security key to prove ownership. Just so you don’t end up accidentally losing important codes to your products, different programs like Key Tracker can be used in order to keep a clean, organized database of products and keys.
Simple interface quickly gets you up and running
Before the application is of any use, you need to check whether or not your computer is fitted with .NET Framework. The setup process is quick and uneventful, letting you check out the set of features before you realize.A compact main window shows up on launch. A new database needs to be created under a custom name and destination. Be sure not to remove the file or you risk all saved codes. Unfortunately, the application doesn’t prompt for a password to keep all keys safe, so it’s best to make sure nobody is around when handling them.
Add items and related keys
There are two editors you need to use. The first is where all products are added. The process is simple and your effort narrows down to writing the name and adding the item to the list. You can remove unwanted items, and later on you can view all of them in a drop-down menu in the main window. On the other hand, each product can be fitted with one or more keys. Sadly, there’s no generator for keys, but you can have a hyphen automatically inserted after a specific number of characters. Changes need to be saved, but you’re also prompted on exit. Multiple databases can be created, with the possibility to auto-connect to the previous one.
On an ending note
Bottom line is that security still heavily relies on passwords and keys. Key Tracker is sure to help you at least keep them safe in a database to prevent loss of data. Multiple databases can be created, but it would have been useful to have them protected with a password.
