AS-File Crypt : Protect any file by using the Salsa20 or the ChaCha20 256-bit methods with the help of this lightweight and straightforward application
If you need to protect your files, and you don't want to spend to much time doing that you can try encrypting them. Salsa20 and ChaCha20 are two of the decent stream ciphers out there. AS-File Crypt uses both of these methods and can give you a helping hand.
Simple and easy-to-use interface
The interface is very lightweight and displays only two text fields and a loading bar. The "Filename" field is for loading the file ready for encryption, and the locking key goes under "Password." Also, you can find the "Encrypt" and "Decrypt" buttons for process finalization.Under the password field, you can notice a drop-down from where you can pick your stream cipher. Both encryption methods are similar, the only difference being the increase in the amount of diffusion per round, meaning a slight speed boost.
Quick file encryption
After you have loaded your file and created the password, you can click "Encrypt" to transform your file. After the encryption process is done, the encrypted document will be saved as a blank under no specific format. The file cannot be opened by any program and upon accessing a list of different programs will be suggested. For example, if you open the file with Notepad, you can notice that the contents are displayed as unreadable symbols.
Decryption option supported
Furthermore, you can also decrypt your files in no time. Load the protected file, provide the password and click "Decrypt."
Lightweight file protection
To sum it up, AS-File Crypt is an excellent choice for users that need to hide their file content under a sturdy curtain. It can easily be used by people with or without technical experience due to its overall simplicity.
