Lightened Dream is an open-source application designed specifically for helping you keep track of your dreams with the aid of a journal.

User interface

You are welcomed by a clean feature lineup that allows you to access the Explorer section for selecting between Dreams, Categories (e.g. Characters, Objects, Actions), as well as Lucidity (e.g. REM Cycles, Subliminals, Recordings, Readings, Exercises).The tool provides several handy buttons embedded in the primary panel which help you create new dreams, assign locations, characters, actions, themes, emotions, and objects, delete or save the selected item, refresh the current information with just one click, and perform search operations.

Adding a new dream in the journal

Lightened Dream gives you the possibility to create a new dream by typing in the text into the primary panel. On the downside, you cannot paste the information from another third-party text editor, so you are stuck with the built-in options. The utility offers support for a spell checking function but it doesn’t let you customize the text in terms of font, font style, size, and color.You can specify the title, pick the dream type (e.g. Lucid Dream, Thought, Nightmare, Epic Dream, Vivid Dream, Daydream), choose the date from a built-in calendar, as well as enter the time. The tool comes packed with several preset categories that define emotions, such as admiration, anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness, and surprise.

Other handy options

The REM cycle mode enables you to play various audio files, select the sleep cycles and length, enter the title, add a description, as well as view information displayed on a graph where you can drag and drop the audio files to the desired position. Additionally, you may add a custom audio file from your computer (MP3 file format).The utility allows you to add checks (e.g. blink, hands, reality, text, time), subliminal messages (e.g. "I am focused," "I am aware"), reality checks (e.g. "Look at the time.
