Can be used on the go

The application is pretty flexible, in the sense that there’s no need to go through a setup process to work. This allows you to carry it around on a thumb drive, and use it on other computers, without worrying about system registries being affected. However, you need to make sure that Java Runtime Environment is installed on the PC you use it on.Both counterparts for encryption, and decryption are found in the same compact main window, but separated by tabs. Unlike others of its kind, the application targets entire folders, so you best make sure all important files are there. Drag and drop is not supported, nor is there a context menu integration for easier selection of folders.

It can take a bit of time to get a folder encrypted, but this mostly depends on the number of files, and overall size. There’s no password prompt, so you just need to make sure nobody else has access to the application, since there’s no extra security option.The algorithm creates an encrypted file to a custom location. If you want to clear your tracks, original content needs to be manually removed, with no option to have this automatically done. To decrypt, it’s enough to use the browse dialog to select the encrypted file, and specify an output path.

All in all, important files are always at risk, and anyone can take a look if you’re away from your desk and forget to lock the computer.
