The application doesn't take long to launch and it doesn't come with a complicated setup that you would need to complete before you can use it. NAS Herder doesn't actually install on your device, simple run the executable file and make the initial changes that need to be done.If you're running on Windows 7, you will be required to install .NET Framework 4.0 first, to make sure the application runs properly.

Run and monitor ReadyNAS systems

The first thing that you need to do after launching the application is to scan your device for ReadyNAS file in LAN. You can have it display only up to 5 systems. It shows you the host name, IP address, MAC Address, model and Arch of each NAS system and you need to pick one for monitoring.It also displays the status after one was picked and lets you ping them. The scanning process only takes a few seconds to complete.

There's also the option to input the host name, IP address, MAC address and password for a NAS. Notifications can be adjusted, you can get alerts when the CPU, System or Disk exceed certain temperatures and pick a color for the alerts.In addition, you can limit he maximum fan RPM and pick a type of notification. Enable the reboot NAS, register NAS Herder in Windows Startup or adjust the ping interval.All in all, NAS Herder is a very nice software solution for running, shutting down or monitoring ReadyNAS systems from your computer, getting alerts and adjusting some settings to meet your preferences.
