RGB devices certainly look cool, but you may not want your peripherals to be lit up all the time, such as when you step away from your computer or leave it running overnight. However, you cannot always do this using the device software, so you may have to resort to third-party applications.IdleRGB is a relatively simple program that can switch off the LEDs on your Corsair devices if no input has been detected for a certain amount of time, as well as change them to a different color when Caps Lock is pressed.
Great application for Corsair device users
IdleRGB is designed to work with Corsair keyboards, mice, headsets and mouse pads that are supported by Corsair Utility Engine SDK.In order to take advantage of this application, the Corsair Utility Engine also needs to be running, and the SDK option has to be enabled.
Turn off LEDs or switch them to a different color when idle
Once you have installed the program, you can set the idle timer to determine when the mode should be enabled. The application cannot actually turn off the LEDs, but changing their color to black has pretty much the same effect.Additionally, IdleRGB is capable of changing the lighting color of your devices whenever the Caps Lock key is pressed. You can play around with the RGB sliders to create any color you prefer.However, it does not seem to be possible to disable the Caps Lock feature, which can be an issue if you want to keep your normal lighting settings even when the key is pressed.
Set up an idle mode for your Corsair RGB devices
While it could use some additional configuration options, IdleRGB is a handy piece of software for users who wish to prevent the RGB lighting on their Corsair devices from being active when the PC is idle. It is very unobtrusive and not at all difficult to configure.
