In depth

A closer look at ClimeCalc

There is a variety of weather information that can be calculated from a few basic pieces of information that are included in most weather reports. ClimeCalc is an application that allows users to calculate advanced weather information in exceptional detail, based on the temperature, humidity and air pressure.

A basic, single window that provides users with all the features of the program

ClimeCalc is a complicated program in regards to its calculations, yet its presentation is a bit basic and simple. Everything is displayed in a single window, with no tabs or other areas, there are no settings or other features. The application operates with a series of text fields that change depending on how users edit the three main fields.Given the advanced subject matter of ClimeCalc, a few tooltips would be vast improvement, along with some help documentation. The lack of a any explanation of how the application works, as well as what some of more the technical aspects mean might leave several users lost, or some having an imperfect understanding.

A detailed array of different weather information contained within the program

Despite the basic nature of the application's presentation, it does present a vast amount of information for users to process and learn about their day. ClimeCalc works in three different temperature settings; Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin, that can be swapped at any point regardless of the current input. With the temperature, air pressure and humidity, the program can calculate; wet-bulb temperature, water vapor partial pressure, relative humidity, saturation vapor pressure, saturation humidity, dew point, air density, absolute humidity. Unfortunately, these can be adjusted or edited in any way, but the detail is impressive.

A helpful tool that should be interesting to those who are curious about meteorology

In conclusion, ClimeCalc is a small, but detailed application that will provide users with a wealth of detail about the weather. While the program could easily be presented better or provide a bit a more support, that doesn’t detract from the quality of the information.
