Math Drill : Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in straightforward, customizable test scenarios with progress and accuracy shown in percentage
Math is all about accuracy, and school teaches you how to handle different operations without using any sophisticated machines, or apparatus. However, it’s difficult to master without practice, so if you’re spending too much time in from of the computer, it’s best to properly use it. As such, Math Drill can help with various exercises, and configurable test mode.
Advantages of a portable app
The application is portable, which presents a few advantages. On the one hand, no installation is involved, so it can just as well be launched on other PCs directly from a thumb drive. On the other hand, no changes are made to registry entries, so the target PC is not affected. However, Java Runtime Environment is a mandatory requirement, which means it needs to be installed on the computer you use it on.All the application has to offer can be found in quite a compact window, with different tabs so all features don’t feel overwhelming. You’re directly taken into the Drill tab, which is actually the test, but it’s best to pay a visit to the other tabs first, in order to choose the test type, as well as other related parameters.
Configurations, and progress tracking
The test can consist only of the four basic operations, like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. However, these can’t be combined in the test, while the maximum number of expression variables is fixed at two. By default, only numbers from 0 to 10 are used, but this can be changed from the options tab, with an additional option to include negative answer scenarios. There’s no time limit to the test, unless you decide to add one, which in turn enables the numerical value field for minutes, representing duration. Progress can be tracked during testing, with score shown in percentage, based on accuracy level. Sadly, there’s no possibility to export results, not even after a single test case, let alone the whole record for more sessions.
On an ending note
In conclusion, Math Drill might come in the form of a lightweight math testing application, but with enough practice, it’s sure to help you master these basic operations. You can’t save any results to compare progress, but the overall set of features, and instant accuracy calculus make it worth a try.
