Abassis Finance Manager is a free application which enables you to easily organize your finances, put together a personal budget, keep track of income and expenses, in order to ultimately improve your savings account.It adopts a simple and intuitive interface, where the transaction, account, category and graph options are split into four panes. The welcoming wizard helps you quickly create a database.

Set up accounts and income

You can fill out information regarding the name and initial balance of your pocket, bank, savings and credit card accounts, as well as the income amount for bonus, commission, company contributions, employer matching, investment, overtime, salary, and special payment.Other types of income focus on child support received, employee stock option, received gifts or loan principal, lotteries, pensions and annuities, social security benefits, state and local tax refund, and unemployment compensation.

Define expenses and month settings

As far as expenses are concerned, you can indicate the amount of money spent for bank charges (ATM charge, interest paid, service charge), bills (e.g. cable television, cellular phone, electricity), clothing (laundry, purchases), education (e.g. books, courses, child care), entertainment (e.g. cultural events, sporting goods), food (butcher, groceries), health care (e.g. dental, hospital), home (e.g. appliances, electronics), insurance (e.g. automobile, homeowners), job expenses, personal care, pets, and others.Before finishing the wizard, you can specify the first month to input transactions for, along with the date interval of the month. All these details can be later edited from the main app window.

Manage information and view graphs

It's possible to import transactions and the balance from the previous month, add new transactions and accounts to the database, enter comments, or create new categories and subcategories. Graphs can be examined with the expenses distribution or transaction fluctuation analysis in the past six months, by indicating the start and end date, along with the category (or all).The project can be saved to file and later resumed, as well as printed.

Evaluation and conclusion

It had minimal impact on the machine's performance in our tests, running on low CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash. Although it's outdated, Abassis Finance Manager features an approachable interface and options for managing finances.
