Simple visuals quickly get you up and running

You don’t need to connect a guitar to the PC for things to work out, but you might want to keep it close in order to practice finger support, and strumming. Unfortunately, the only audio support you receive is from your own guitar, because the application only shows visual examples.The main menu shows nothing more than a picture of a guitar, and quick access buttons to the whole operation. Needless to say that hitting “Start” is among the first things you need to do. Here, you find different categories of chords, but there’s also a side panel enlisting absolutely everything you go through.

Rich documentation, and printable format

The application puts an impressive variety of chord examples at your disposal. Categories let you view major and minor, augmented, diminished, suspended, 6th to 13th, power to 5th, slash chords, and other, more ambiguous chords.All categories are structured in the same manner, with a side navigation panel letting you select the chord of interest, showing content in a dedicated preview area. Sadly, the format is pretty raw, and unless you know how to read tabs, you end up scratching your head.On the bright side, the application also provides thorough documentation on how to read these chords, with neat examples. What’s more, you can get a preview of chords in a printable format. This option opens up Notepad with the same layout as the application preview area, but enabling you to save, or print on a sheet of paper.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Guitar Chords is sure to help you learn a thing or two about chords, if not everything there is to know. An abundance of well-organized data can easily be accessed through the intuitive menu. Even though the interface can feel a little cluttered, you can easily view in Notepad, or even print on a sheet of paper.
