Power Conversion Tool is a basic application that facilitates a simple interface for converting power units, as the name suggests. It offers support for mechanical horsepower, metric horsepower, kilowatts, megawatts and watts.

Doesn't require setup

The program doesn't need installation, which means it's portable. Power Conversion Tool is packed in a single executable file that can be saved anywhere on the hard drive and just double-clicked to bring up the main app window and perform conversions. Moreover, it doesn't create additional files on the disk or generate new entries in the system registry.

View power definitions and perform conversions

As far as the GUI is concerned, the utility keeps things intuitive. It's advisable to maximize the main window to get a better view of all options. Definitions are displayed for power and all supported units, so you can understand how it works.You can click the "Power Conversion Tool" link to view two lists with all supported units, where it's necessary to select the source and output, then enter the numerical value and click "Converter".

Convert mechanical and metric horsepower, kilowatts, megawatts, and watts

Otherwise, you can return to the main menu and click an entry that corresponds to the source unit you're interested in, whether you want to convert from mechanical or metric horsepower, kilowatts, megawatts or watts into anything else. Aside from the way you interact with the controls, there are no important differences between these two modes.

Discontinued app but still operational

Although the program hasn't been updated for a while, it worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests. It carried out conversion jobs fast and delivered accurate results.On the other hand, the software project doesn't seem to be in development anymore, which means that it will not receive any further updates. Nevertheless,Power Conversion Tool comes in handy if you don't have an active Internet connection to convert power units online.
