QamIDEN is an application you can use to translate words between the English and Indonesian language. It's particularly helpful when you don't have an active Internet connection at hand tjat would permit you to look up information online. The tool doesn't come packed with complicated options or configuration settings, making it accessible to all types of users.

Simple setup and GUI

Setting it up takes minimal time and effort, thanks to the fact that the wizard had familiar steps. As far as the interface is concerned, QamIDEN adopts a normal window with a clear-cut structure, where you can open the existing database file to take into account as the search scope.

Translate English to Indonesian, and vice versa

After selecting the dictionary mode between English to Indonesian or Indonesian to English, all you have to do is enter a keyword and click a button to look it up. Partial searches are accepted, as the program displays a list with all possible matches.It puts a basic search function at your disposal for quickly identifying words in the results list. Moreover, it can be asked to look inside word definitions, include or exclude substrings, as well as to perform and reveal SQL queries. Text can be selected and copied to the Clipboard. However, there are no options implemented for printing it or exporting it to file.

Evaluation and conclusion

The software utility left a small footprint on system performance in our tests, running on low CPU and memory. It contains help documentation that explains how to use QamIDEN.No error dialogs were shown in our tests and the application didn't hang or crash. Although it doesn't leave too much room for customization, it offers a simple and straightforward solution for translating text from Indonesian into English and vice versa.
